Cow’s in the Garden

Posted in Garden by Lzyjo on March 23, 2009

As I made my way up to the garden yesterday this little calf catching a mid morning nap in a pile of feed hay caught me  by surprise.

The momma cow bellowed continuously at the baby cow, urging it to get up. The bellowing seemed to make me more uncomfortable than the calf, who paid her no attention.

Finally, time to wake up. The calf, still with an umbilical cord, came over to check me out.

He told me he was ready for his close-up.

Aww! So cute and fuzzy.

The momma cow waited patiently around the corner until the calf was ready, then she quickly got up and encouraged him to come back through the fence.

Sounds like a typical young one- have to call them more than once before they listen to you!
