Garden Updates

Posted in Garden by Lzyjo on March 17, 2009

Good Morning and a fine morning it is!  Hallelujah! We’ve made it through the long, brutal, godforsaken, damn cold winter, of mostly 40 degrees days. Okay, I love to whine, but 40 is cold to me! I’ve planted a lot in the vegetable garden and we’ve already had our first 80 degree day, which broke an all-time record.  Snow peas and shelling peas are up.  I have  golden-fleshed Charlotte potatoes and red skin/rose fleshed Huckleberry potatoes in the ground. I have already planted out my overwintered peppers and yesterday I planted most of the warm season stuff, beans, summer and winter squash, watermelon, and charentais canteloupe. It was a good day and today will be even better! It’s supposed to be sunny and in the 70’s!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
